Future Couture Surrealism

Cathleen Naundorf began to work in 2016 on a new serie titled, “Future Couture “ inspired by the artistic movement of Dada and surrealism in modern art of the early twenties.

Its purpose was to ridicule the meaninglessness of the modern world, arguably still a current topic. Inspired by René Magritte, Naundorf using painted surrealistic backdrops and everyday objects, combined strange and illogical scenes with photographic precision.

Naundorf’s photograph within a photograph, reflects the previously contradictory conditions of dream and reality into an absolute reality, a hyper-reality.
