« Noah’s Ark features a series of taxidermy animals alongside unique haute couture pieces by leading fashion designers including Dior, Chanel, Valentino, Gaultier, Elie Saab and Stephane Rolland.  These elaborate sets embody a sense of extravagance – the dresses, headpieces and models posed against painted backdrops in a photo studio or on location – juxtaposed with the Biblical story and quest for a better life. “I am telling the classic Bible story, Noah’s Ark.  Saving the animals and mankind; leaving earth as we know it – in a boat – and believing there is something better for the future.” »

« Underpinning all of Cathleen Naundorf’s work as a photographer, she has a special talent in the still life genre. 2010 she started a series of personal work in which she created powerful images with varying objects and their placement drawing on her early study of painting and drawings. Between the hectic schedule of her work in fashion, Naundorf enjoys photographing still life in the peace of her photo studio. The serie shows different seasons and continents emerge between fashion and travel set up in mystical still lifes. »

Cathleen Naundorf began to work in 2016 on a new serie titled, “Future Couture “ inspired by the artistic movement of Dada and surrealism in modern art of the early twenties.

Its purpose was to ridicule the meaninglessness of the modern world, arguably still a current topic. Inspired by René Magritte, Naundorf using painted surrealistic backdrops and everyday objects, combined strange and illogical scenes with photographic precision.

Naundorf’s photograph within a photograph, reflects the previously contradictory conditions of dream and reality into an absolute reality, a hyper-reality.

Cathleen Naundorf’s collaborations with the museum Rodin spans over ten years.

In memory of her time as an art student, studying Auguste Rodin and Camille Claudel’s sculpting. In 2015 Naundorf for the first time choose Rodin’s private atelier in Meudon for her settings.

The emotional impact created stunning photographs, taken in the Orangerie, Auguste Rodin’s atelier in Meudon, which combined some of the finest sculptures like ; « La porte de l’enfer »  or «  Les Bourgeois de Calais » with Naundorf’s photography.
